Rex-PutPlus places windows within a grid system, similar to the functionity found in Ubuntu Unity (the super-keypad shortcuts), but is implemented as bash scripts using xprop, wmctrl, and xwininfo, with no dependency on compiz. It is designed for use on RexBang (http://www.rexbang.tk), the Puppy Linux derivative, but should work on any system where the above dependencies are available.
