getting started
for easy mode, download a recent build from cdn.ix.cyb.red. you will also need to install plan9port. the second part is not ideal, but its what we have at the moment. arch users may take an easier route and do yay -S plan9port
. a PKGBUILD
is planned, but not yet available.
wget -O Downloads/tomo-Linux-trunk.zip https://src.ix.cyb.red/xjix/tomo-el-fuego/zip
mkdir -p ~/tomo ~/lib ~/keyring
cd ~/tomo
mv ~/Downloads/tomo-Linux*.zip .
unzip tomo-Linux*.zip
TOMO_IROOT=`pwd` TOMO_SCREEN="800x600" ./utils/start-tomo
customization options
you can customize your desktop shell by creating a ~/lib/tomorc
file. i would also suggest adding utils/h
and utils/t
to your PATH
for easier interfacing with the host and vice versa.
tomo has two desktops available wm/wm
and wm/qwm
. check wm/man
for details on their operation.
