The <em>evenp</em> logical operator returns 
<A HREF=r37_0122.html>true</A> if its argument is an 
even integer, and 
<A HREF=r37_0014.html>nil</A> if its argument is an odd integer. An error 
message is returned if its argument is not an integer.
