The operator <em>cofactor</em> returns the cofactor of the element in row 
&lt;row&gt; and column &lt;column&gt; of a 
<A HREF=r37_0345.html>matrix</A>. Errors occur 
if &lt;row&gt; or &lt;column&gt; do not evaluate to integer expressions or if 
the matrix is not square.
