    Topic 1 <-- Association --> Topic 2

Ruidajo's PureData Patch

Ruidajo expands on the idea of Pure Data possiblity of self-referentiality by creating "patches" (small pieces of functionality) that connect together other places of the environment

In the sound perception, the ways of its reproduction throught time is what gives each instrument its particular signature, related with

  • ADSR:

    • Attack
    • Decay,
    • Sustain,
    • Release,
  • Line: Creates a connection between two objects. Line understand the messages represented by the objects it connects.

  • The idea is to produce a particular "wave" representing ADSR using patches.

    • Ticking clocks with half second delay (two representations):

    • Mini keyboard to play a synth:

    • Keyboard representing Attack and Delay

    • Bifurcations on key releases:

    • The patter in 1 sec:

  • Tunning systems:

    Bach and semitones. la# 2^(1/12)

    • Midi representation:

  • A patch can represent (factorize) a subpart of the diagram

  • How Pure Data reads environment ambient (internalization).

  • Ofelia: Lua + OpenFramworks + PureData.

    • Aesthetic experiences and live coding: Roassal powered alike Hydra coding experience.
    • Pharo powered shaders.
  • pd: Opens subpatches, new canvas containing functionality (cfg: fractality notion by Adrian at the beginning).

Ideas y lecturas

Adrian

Master

He is thankful about how the introduction makes a complex environment more understandable. Example: numeric representation of keys, or music scales.

Ruidajo

Knowlege transfer beyond visual/spoken mediums (accesibility): sound, body, odor, kinestesic, emotional knowledge.

  • Space felt bigger, with more people/facilitators.
  • Expansion/confunsion by "extraction" of preferred mediums.
  • Problems with the bridge with this kind of experiences with the translation with another media (qualia/gene/meme problem).
    • Affecting from measuring/registering (quatum metaphor the object changes when measured).
    • Technologies as breach amplifiers.

Franco

  • Senses and empathy as important ways of understanding of experiences, words, fellings.
  • Information is not knowledge, words are not experiences.
  • Partiture is not the music, music is not the experience, experience is not the feelings.
  • From our particular places approach to software and technology with lower friction.
