Introduction

Welcome to Gimcracks & Gewgaws, an intermittently-updated coding blog in which I post little bits (or large bits!) of code here and there as it befits my sense of wonder and/or amusement. Expect me to post code for "weird" languages which are "not commercially viable" here, often alongside some sidebar rants about how badly unimaginative and incompetent the software industry can be. Or, rather, is.

The astute reader will note that I have no discussion area on this blog. There is a good reason for this: I don’t find comment areas worth reading when I’m visiting other sites; I’m sure as Hell not going to have a comment area in my own site. This does not mean that I’m opposed to feedback. Far from it! I love feedback, provided that is well-considered and courteous. Instant-access comments do not foster either of these.
