Tarballia tarballs are hand-made:
⋅ A checkout of the latest version is obtained.
⋅ The top-level directory name is changed to match the name used in the OpenBSD ports system.
⋅ The new tarball is rolled (tar czf) and named to match the name used in the OpenBSD ports system.
The contents of a tarball must be identical to its corresponding checkout.
The only exception is the top-level directory name.
