See LFS Book 2.4.
Thanks to some foresight in the previous LFS build on this server, there is a spare partition to use for this LFS build. After checking with cfdisk, this turns out to be /dev/sda6 with a label of lfs2. The partition already has an (empty) ext4 filesystem, so it can just be mounted on /mnt/lfs.
There are partitions with existing file systems which should be able to be transferred to the new LFS:
There will have to be some procedures for the transfer and/or for multi-use for some of these. There is also spare space on the disk in case it is needed.
